Helping Nature &
Communities to Thrive
Why WoodsWork?
Based in Wrexham in North Wales, we are a hands on, pro-active not for profit organisation concerned with climate change and working with local communities to provide and protect green spaces for future generations.
Our aim is to take on projects to manage existing woodland and green spaces and also to purchase land in the vicinity of Wrexham and bordering counties, to plant up with trees and hedgerows and allow to re-wild.
Would you like to know more about our work? Do you know of some land that may need management or be eligible for purchase by WoodsWork? Please contact us
"We have worked in partnership with WoodsWork CIC for the past year on a project to maintain and further develop use of a parcel of woodland called Little Vawnog. The Conservation area is divided into 3 distinct sections woodland, meadow and river bank and the Community Council have for a long time wanted to increase the use of the area by involving local residents and schools in projects to enhance it.
WoodsWork now arrange regular meetings to consult with local residents on Saturday mornings and encourage them to become more involved in the area. This has included work to widen the footpaths and cutting back the Himalayan Balsam. They have also contacted local schools and are working on proposals to involve the school children in the area building bird and bat boxes. The Community Council has a good working relationship with the team and the Service Level Agreement is to be continued for the next financial year."
